On Memorial Day, We Remember

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is the one day each year when this country sets aside everything else to remember the men and women who put on the uniform and never came home.

We remember them today.

We remember the families who answered the door and never quite recovered. The empty chairs at Thanksgiving tables. The photographs on mantles. The voices lost too soon, and the calls home that were never made.

Our work, here at IntelliVoice, is to keep people connected — to their families, their colleagues, the lives they are building. On most days we focus on the calls being made. Today we hold space for the calls that ended too early, and the loved ones still listening for them.

To the Gold Star families, to the veterans carrying the memory of a friend, and to everyone who knows a name they cannot stop saying — we see you. We are grateful. We remember.

If you would like to honor a fallen service member today, the Honor and Remember Project and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) are two organizations that exist for exactly that purpose.
